Dadlani is upset that media reports have been claiming that Akon has composed the number. "As to why the papers and TV guys are claiming that Akon has composed the track, I have no answer. They're all into sensationalism, they're not in the business of verifying anything. As it happens, V+S (Vishal and Shekhar) have composed, I've written and Akon has sung 'Chammak challo' brilliantly!" he said. Shah Rukh, who has co-produced the movie with Eros Entertainment, under his banner Red Chillies Entertainment, is also disappointed with the song's leak out. Nevertheless, he is glad that only the earlier version, not the final version, has been sampled by the audience till now.
